Growing up in the dim lighting of the Tescari cave systems, Durmacar has exceptionally good vision in the dark. This is why he chooses to operate primarily at night. As an assassin, he is skilled at infiltration, espionage and sabotage, and spends copious amounts of time planning and preparing for his assignments.
He also has advanced knowledge of herb lore, and is skilled in the making of potions and poisons alike. Much of this knowledge is employed by Durmacar to nurse his substance addiction to Tescari Mushrooms. Many of the Tescari assassin rings keep their assaassins hooked on rare drugs to keep them from going rouge, but Durmacar was resourceful enough to synthesize his own supply, allowing him to operate independently. If he were to stop taking this drug completely, however, the withdrawal would likely kill him.
Durmacar is 25 years of age at the beginning of the series.

As a mentor, Durmacar serves as a counterweight to the taciturn influence of Darren.
